There is nothing nicer than a traditional pub lunch to enjoy in Oxfordshire and The Cotswolds, summer or winter there is an abundance of choice and places to eat and drink, it’s a real foodie destination renowned for the quality of pubs, with something for everyone.  The Oxfordshire Cotswolds have many rivers, including the River Thames so if you fancy a waterfront pub lunch with or without a trip down river then look no further.  If you fancy an idyllic Oxfordshire Cotswolds country pub serving local seasonal produce,  then we have that too, set among the beautiful stone cottages of this part of England.  To make finding what you are looking for easy, we have split the pubs into type of locations, we hope you enjoy your pub lunch as much as we do!

Near to our lovely barns at Chimney Farm Barns The Barns – By Quince, we are spoilt for choice and have several river pubs to choose from.  The Trout Inn at Tadpole Bridge Food & Drink | Award-Winning Restaurant In Oxfordshire | The Trout at Tadpole Bridge (butcombe.com), has direct access to the river with a boat/canoe access by the bridge.

Or why not try The Riverside at Lechlade Lechlade Accommodation/Bed/Breakfast/Swindon | Riverside Pub, Lechlade, Cotswolds | Arkells (riverside-lechlade.com) on the River Thames with a large outdoor seating area overlooking the river, its a perfect spot for a good pub lunch. The Swan Inn at Swinbrook is also right on the River The Swan Inn Swinbrook | A Cotswold Country Inn & Restaurant Nr Burford (theswanswinbrook.co.uk) with easy access to Burford and its mix of independent shops and the wonderful garden centre emporium Burford Garden Co. making this a great day out. Minster Mill at Minster Lovell, set in this dreamy Costwolds village, with wild swimming (or paddling) and beautiful grounds this is definitely worth a visit. Finally, The Fox at Great Barrington on the River Windursh Home – (thefoxatbarrington.com) family run with log fires and friendly staff.

Village Gastro Pubs

We start with a number one choice from Tatler The Bell at Langford has it all, picturesque, good food and wine and apparently the odd celeb to spy Home (thebelllangford.com). Our second choice is The Harcourt Arms at Stanton Harcourt The Harcourt Arms – The Ultimate Village Pub Experience set in the heart of this pretty village its always popular.  The Angel, Burford set is in the middle of this idyllic town Award-winning gastro pub with rooms located in the medieval town of Burford, in The Cotswolds (theangelatburford.co.uk) its a great local pub ideally set for a visit to Burford. Our next two and are part of the excellent Lionhearth group of Cotswolds pubs and both definitely worth a visit The Chequers in Churchill The Chequers – (lionhearth.co.uk)  is exactly how you would imagine a village pub should be, cosy little nooks and crannies and great food and The Swan at Ascott under Wychwood The Swan – (lionhearth.co.uk), charming interiors and good food.
