Shimmy into Suffolk
Made up of 10 towns on the East coast of England, each individual in their own way, Suffolk has something to offer everyone. Named after ‘Southern Folk’, Suffolk is a quintessentially English county that celebrates everything Britain has to offer. From a canvas of artists of all varieties to working farmland and wartime coastline, Suffolk has been the backdrop to England’s history books for centuries, and now could be the backdrop to your next holiday. The Sussex skies showcase all of the colours of an artist’s palette above its flat land. Once home to John Constable who revolutionised the romantic painting genre, the Suffolk landscape is celebrated. No need for wellies, Suffolk is known for the driest weather in England, you can nearly guarantee a rain free Suffolk summer staycation or an autumn escape filled with long walks and trail cycles. Keep an eye out for any Anglo-Saxon riches along your way as Suffolk is home to the best source of archaeological evidence of that period in England’s history.
Fall in love with Suffolk through Quince’s eyes and see why it is home to our latest property.

Sutton Hoo
We couldn’t have a property in Aldeburgh without a nod to Sutton Hoo. The vast and stunning 255 acre estate has a view over the River Deben and was the setting of the greatest archaeological digs of all time. With possessions discovered from an Anglo-Saxon King, Sutton Hoo is steeped in history and remembers the footsteps of those that have come before us. Sutton Hoo is also the setting of the critically acclaimed film, The Dig, starring Carey Mulligan. Sutton Hoo | Suffolk | National Trust - Image From National Geographic
Gainsborough's House
This art museum and birthplace of Thomas Gainsborough is the perfect way to spend a cultured afternoon in Suffolk. With pieces by the namesake, this art gallery is also a homage to the artist's work and life in Suffolk. There is an attached café, The Watering Place, filled with homemade delicacies daily, we recommend the cheese scones. Image From Gainsborough's House
The Seafront Gardens
There are eight gardens scattered across the sea front at Felixstowe, each blooming in colours throughout the Spring and Summer. With bluebells, crocuses and daffodils throughout the Spring and roses, lavender and water lilies in the Summer. Pop the picnic basket in the boot and you’ve got a wonderful day out with the family ahead. Image From The Seafront Gardens - Visit Felixstowe
Framlingham Castle
Castle on the Hill. Yes, the very one. Located near Ed Sheeran’s home in the UK, Framlingham Castle was the muse of his hit, Castle on the Hill. Surrounded by a beautiful lake, the castle was once a home to earls and dukes of Norfolk. Take in the view after the spectacular wall walk and see how special this gem truly is. Adnams Distillery
Adnams is known for its beers. There are an abundance of tours of the distillery and brewery at Adnams, however, a unique experience that Adnams offers is make your own Southwold Gin. Tailor the gin to your taste using juniper berries and spices galore. You might want to have a designated driver for this one! Although if you’re looking for something a bit closer to home, Fishers Gin distillery is just a short stroll from Penty on the Hoo, located right on the seafront in Aldeburgh.
