What to expect

Going away for Christmas and New Year gives you, your family and friends a chance to relax, escape and really wind down.  At the same time, you want to be sure to know what to expect so that you can plan what you need to bring with you.  We at Quince want to take that uncertainty away, so we have our holiday houses fully ready for your arrival.

Kitchen equipment

We pride ourselves on how well-equipped our kitchens are.  We know from experience that Christmas and New Year involves a lot of meals, for a lot of people so you will find multiple different-sized oven pans, saucepans, baking trays and tins.  We provide a good selection of serving bowls and platters in each of our holiday houses and serving utensils to go with them.  There are shallow serving dishes, cheese and breadboards, carving knives, forks and salt and pepper grinders.  Each house has a food mixer, a hand mixer and a pasta maker.  There are knives and pizza cutters and a large selection of utensils.  And if you would like the full list of items, just ask and we can send it over to you.

Christmas Decorations

All Quince holiday houses are decorated for Christmas.  Each tree is themed to matched the house, so our beautiful Cotswolds barn, The Owls Barn,  has lots of angelic owls decorating the tree.  We use faux trees for their sustainability but if you wish to bring your own tree, we can work with you to enable that.  In addition, there will be other decorations throughout the house that are planned to complement each individual house.  Finally, our hampers will be Christmas-themed themed and we hope you will enjoy the goodies on offer.

Food deliveries/logs

Its always really special to have a log fire at Christmas.  We will leave you a starter pack of logs/fire lighters/matches and kindling but suggest if you want the fire to roar every day of your stay, you will need to order some logs or pick some up with your food delivery.  We suggest you get your food delivery slot in place as early as you can as some of our houses are  off the beaten track and you want to ensure you have everything you need to hand.  If you want any specific advice about deliveries or local shops for organic local food, just message us and we are happy to help.  Each holiday houses has easy access to some really wonderful local producers who can prepare food on your behalf.
